HISTORY: Collating Ximoc
David Morris, expat Belfast cartoonist now based in Bristol, sends me this photo of the putting together of Ximoc, a Belfast-based small press anthology of the early 80s. I can see the cover of issue 6 on the table, so this would be 1982. Clockwise from front left, we have Davy Francis with all the hair, the much-missed Ivor “Lightning” Lavery, Hilary Robinson (who ended up writing most of 2000AD for a while), an unidentified chap at back right (perhaps Mike McManus, regular contributor and issue 6’s cover artist, or Ray McEvoy, another regular?), David Morris himself in the dungarees, and finally at front right, Patrick Jones, now a successful illustrator in Australia.
