NEWS: DICE Spin Off Cork Comic Expo Set For April 25th

The Irish Examiner carried a story earlier today setting out some detail regarding a recently teased event for County Cork. The Cork Comic Expo has been confirmed to take place in Mahon Point on April 25th.

A number of guests were named as attending in the article with those already confirmed are writer and artist, Stephen Mooney, (Grayson, Half Past Danger); Wexford’s Nick Roche, (Transformers, New Warriors, and Monster Motors); Belfast artist, PJ Holden, (Judge Dredd and The Dept of Monsterology); and the award-winning writer Maura McHugh, who co-writes Witchfinder for Dark Horse Comics.

Co-organiser Will Sliney teased the below tweet on December 5th regarding something brewing.

The Examiner article outlined that the event will feature workshops, demonstrations and art competitions, tips and insights from some of Ireland’s comic book artists and writers, those who are breaking in to the US market, and those who are self publishing.

The event is a joint idea between Will Sliney and the organisers of the successful DICE event, The Big Bang which takes place every September in Dundrum in Dublin.

For those who wish to exhibit at the event The Big Bang’s Bruno Batista said earlier today online that with more details to be announced soon, those details will include information on tables.

Batista added, “The goal is to have a show specifically for Irish Creators and Irish Comics, so I think a lot of people will be interested.”
