Ferguson’s 7 Questions With… The 7th Question Most Mentioned Awards 2015

Another year of 7 questions and, as we near the 85th edition, it is time for the most mentioned awards where I use the power of maths and looking at answers to come up with award winners. We had a wide variety of answers on this but, for the second year running, Mr. Stephen Mooney and Half Past Danger are on top. They are not alone, however.

Half Past Danger continues to get the love from Irish creators but this year it is joined by the ICN Award grabbing Hound. I’m glad to have both of these hardcover books on my bookshelf and it seems that Irish creators I’ve interviewed agree.

Runner-up: Celtic Warrior

With a large Cork contingent in the group this year, it was kind of inevitable that you’d see some, much deserved, love for Will Sliney. He has done a whole lot for the scene in Cork.

Stephen Mooney has had another great year with a stint on DC’s Midnighter but he got a lot of mentions for that nazi, dinosaur book that you may have heard of. Paul Bolger of course got mentioned for that other book that people seem to love (roll on book 2). Never out of peoples’ thoughts (especially Irish creators it seems), Bob Byrne got shout outs for Mr. Amperduke and SHIZNIT.

Runner-up: Paddy Lynch

Another perennial favourite amongst Irish creators (and a favourite of mine). He got mentions for Last Bus, Stray Lines and his work as part of the Comics Lab.
